The key to happiness is progress, growth and constantly working on yourself and developing something – Lewis Howes
Since agreeing the lease in April 2021, our lives were thrown into renovation, then open days, then coaching , then affiliation , then competition and it's rare to sit back and reflect on that process. I opened to gym with the vision that I wanted to use boxing to help people using the discipline of a sport which has positively impacted my life so much. What I wasn't expecting is how much opening the gym would positively change my life in return.
So much has happened in two years that I hadn't foreseen. We've grown as a boxing and fitness community, we run outreach projects in the community to help others, we have the capacity to run holiday clubs, we work in schools to deliver boxing provision, we're now delivering SEMH support through referrals to mentor young people using boxing. What's more, there are even more opportunities to help our community in the pipeline.
Sanctus was my vision for many years and i'm incredibly lucky to have the support of our fantastic coaches, Ash , Em, Aiden & Seb who give so much of themselves to support the club. Kris has been a huge support, as have Joe and Paul. I could go on and on as there are so many of you who play a pivotal role in the club. I think what I'm trying to say is that, we are so much more than a boxing gym, Sanctus is like being part of a family. We share each other's successes, hopes, disappointments , frustrations and keep pushing each other to be our very best.
