Community is at the heart of all we do at Sanctus.

To help grow links with the people we serve, we have led on various projects to help build stronger communities.

  • A weekly well being classes to help our members feel good by prioritising their mental health.

  • Wellbeing walks - because nature is great for mental and physical health.

  • Volunteering on the Brighouse Basin to litter-pick, cut back the overgrowth and make the pathways accessible.

  • A boxing programme to support young people aged between 8-25 years with SEMH needs.

  • Female only defence classes for women who have been victims of crime.

  • A 4035km cycle to fundraising for a community defibrillator

Sanctus Academy A.B.C, based at Sanctus Fitness & Gym in Brighouse, will be providing an array of activities for Calderdale children aged 8-13 that are on benefit related to free school meals. We will be offering our popular boxing camp from Monday 25th March to Thursday 28th March

The Power of Community ✨

A massive thank you to The Smith Foundation who have, through an incredible gesture of kindness, donated a defibrillator to us.

We have worked closely with the William Henry Smith School this academic year, delivering both quality of life sessions to staff and our Box Champions programme with students.

As a community, we cycled 4035km and raised £460. The money raised will go towards installation of an outdoor cabinet so that the defibrillator is accessible to the public.

November 2023 - Santa Dash

We are raising money to buy a much needed defibrillator to be placed outside the gym for public access.

To achieve this we are cycling 4035km - the distance from Brighouse to the North Pole, to raise money to buy a defibrillator.

Everyone can get involved, just share the km you have travelled to the Santa Dash board.

Donations can be made on our crowdfunder page: crowdfunder.co.uk/p/santa-dash---race-to-the-north-pole
